PRO12: Teams up for Ulster v Cardiff

by

Teams are up for Ulster’s PRO12 match against Cardiff at Ravenhill on Friday evening. Kick off 19:35.

The Ulster team features World Cup returnees Paddy Jackson and Darren Cave, who start from the bench, Ian Humphreys starts at out half and Lewis Stevenson steps into second row for the concussed Dan Tuohy.

Last week I wrote at length on the lack of on-field leadership and though I talked myself out of it impacting the game it ended up the difference between the teams in a poor display from our boys.

No real changes to the leadership this time round, at least until Jackson and Cave come on, but the big difference this week is that the team are playing at their beloved Ravenhill – which should be decisive.

It’s been an up – down season for Ulster and, while it never ceases to amaze me that professional sportsmen are so fickle in this day and age, it should continue with a home win against Cardiff despite the Blues looking one . . .

Humph. Is it just me or is he one of those players who gets better the longer he doesn’t play? Peter Nelson did little wrong and an awful lot right the past 4 games…… come on Ulster give youth a chance!

    1. It’s just you Ging as you can see in my eulogy to Ulster’s misunderstood maverick here. https://www.thefrontrowunion.com/2015/10/pro12-ulster-245-cardiff-17/
