Nathan from Ulster Schools Cup Rugby get’s his predictions in for the fourth round of the Schools Cup. You can make your predictions and win a Front Row Union tee here.

Ballyclare HS v RS Armagh

This should be a very close game. RS Armagh have had the better consistency this season so I reckon they will gain the win.

MY PICK: RS ARMAGH

Banbridge Academy v Cambridge House

Both of these have had mediocre seasons at best, so not only should they be glad to have made it this far, but being drawn against one another is greatly to their advantages. I think Banbridge will have the better chance in this one.

MY PICK: BANBRIDGE ACADEMY

Campbell College v Grosvenor GS

Grosvenor have been slightly stronger than in many previous seasons hence their ability to see off Sullivan in the previous round; however, I think Campbell at Fox’s Field will still be too much for them.
MY PICK: CAMPBELL COLLEGE

Coleraine AI v Ballymena Academy

One of the upsets from last week saw the Coleraine side defeat Down HS. Expect no such result this week as Ballymena are on a high after defeating the previously unbeaten Methody.

MY PICK: BALLYMENA ACADEMY

Dalriada v Bangor GS

Both of these teams have had unpredictable seasons and for that reason I make this one of the most difficult to call; so I’m going to take a risk and go for a draw as there is usually one among the fixtures at this stage of the season with Bangor to seal the victory in the replay.

MY PICK: DRAW (BANGOR GS in replay)

Rainey ES v Methodist College

Despite their first defeat of the season, Methody should have no problems against a Rainey side who are unfortunate to have draw such a strong team as they may have had the ability to go that bit further.

MY PICK: METHODIST COLLEGE

RBAI v RS Dungannon

Most people will have Belfast Inst. down to win this one (including myself), but I anticipate that it will be much closer than many expect

MY PICK: RBAI

Wallace HS v Limavady GS

Closer to the beginning of the season I would have given this one to the away side with very little thought; but a recent run of bad form for Limavady and Wallace’s improving fortunes menas that I see it the other way instead

MY PICK: WALLACE HS

Not a bad selection there Nathan, 7 out of 8 but for a crazy rush of blood to your head and for some insane notion that Armagh would beat Ballyclare High at home you could have claimed a clean sweep.

Note to self – never back against the White Hare ;-)

….oh as I was walking down the Rashee Road……
