We are pleased to sponsor the Schools Rugby Ranking system by Nathan Surgenor. The ranking table shows the relative position of the top 32 Schools Rugby teams based on the games they have played this season to date.

We’ll be changing the table each Wednesday and you’ll be able to view how your school is performing by clicking on “Rugby Rankings” in the menu bar at the top of this page.

The curent table is shown below.

In what might be regarded as a surprise to many people, except perhaps to those on the team itself, Ballyclare HS have taken an early lead at the top of the rankings. They have 100% record with four of their seven wins coming against the four teams just below them – a record that should make people sit up and take notice if they haven’t already done so! The rest of the top-half doesn’t throw up too many surprises, although Bangor GS and Down HS will be pleased to find themselves so well placed while Regent House and Coleraine Inst. will be looking for improvement.

At the lower end of the table, Antrim GS and Wellington College, teams who traditionally enter at round 1 of the Schools’ Cup, are perhaps higher than expected, but with many of the lower teams still to register a draw or a win, these teams could drastically change their position in the incoming weeks and produce a table more close to what is expected.
