I caught up with Ulster Women’s Team Manager Natalie Bryant yesterday to find out how preparations were going for the Ulster Women’s 7′s Tournament, to be held at Belfast Harlequins Rugby Club tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon.

There will be eight sides taking part in this inaugural event which will have an international feel with teams from Canada and Dublin taking part against local sides Ballymoney, Carrick, Cooke, Enniskillen and two from Quins.

The draw for the Pools has already been made and Pool 1 looks to be very tasty featuring indeed featuring Cooke, United Rugby from Canada, St Mary’s from Dublin alongside hosts Quins 2. Pool 2 is an all Ulster affair featuring local sides Carrick, Ballymoney, Enniskillen and Quins 1.

Matches kick off at 12:00noon with the finals expected around 5:00pm, a BBQ will be available from 3:00pm and the bar will be open from 1:00pm.

The day’s events will be rounded off with a toga party in the clubhouse with festivities starting around 8:00pm.

If you’ve been following the IRB Women’s World Cup 2010 this is an ideal chance to view some of the future stars up close.

The event is sponsored by Corrs Light, The Hilton, Templepatrick and Kukri.

A full report, with plenty of pictures, will be on the FRU on Monday.
