Ulster RugbyMatt Williams is in with a chance of winning a trophy in his first full season in charge as Ulster take on Connacht this Friday night in Galway.

With Munster, Leinster and Ulster all sitting on three wins each in the Irish Interprovincial table Ulster have a chance of winning “Ireland’s Oldest Trophy” if they manage to turn over the Westies in this Magners League clash. It is understood that Ulster Rugby will go full out next week with open top bus victory parades being organised in rugby strongholds Larne, Belfast, Ballymena, Coleraine and Dungannon but not in Armagh as it is thought it will clash with Munster’s Magners League Victory Tour for their loyal supporters in this area!

Ulster Rugby’s Media Spokesman, Twistan Spin, stated: -

“The Interprovincial League must be the ultimate competition in European Rugby. The league contains two European Cup Winners, three Magners League champions, the current Magners League champion, one of the current European Cup finalists, the Celtic Cup holders and Connacht so the pedigree speaks for itself. We are expecting a 5,000 crowd sell out at The Showgrounds on Friday night and at least 50 of them will be Ulster Supporters.

To be in such a strong position at this late stage in the competition speaks wonders of Matt Williams first season in charge and it’s been particularly pleasing to see that he has brought through so many local youngsters who have learned how to close out tight games like this one is bound to be.

I only wish we could play Munster every week.”

There is still plenty of room on the URSC luxury coach for this vital match so don’t miss out and book now!
