Ireland Women entertained Japan Women in a four match challenge series as part of their preparations ahead of the 2022 Women’s World Cup which starts on 1st July 2022.
As a recent convert to hockey I’m somewhat mystified as to the lack of coverage of Ireland Women in what must be a top three sport for women’s participation in Ireland. In our first season of coverage we’ve found a huge amount of teams, we’ve still to get round them all, but, in all our coverage to date, I’ve been very impressed by their athletic prowess and skills.
So, before we get to our coverage of the SoftCo matches we’ll have a quick look at the World Cup.
