Weather conditions were kinder, but only just, for Wednesday’ second semi final of the Ulster Schools Cup, between Methodist College and Rainey Endowed, Magherafelt, at Lisnagarvey HC.
Methody set about their task from the push back. Using an aggressive defence, they closed Rainey down, preventing them settling, resulting in most play in the Rainey half.
Pressure told, when in the 9th minute Methody captain, Ella Armstrong, struck from a penalty corner, for a well deserved lead.
At the end of the quarter Methody lead 1-0.
