I caught up with Queen’s University IIIs on Saturday afternoon in their highly competitive match against Randalstown II’s in an Ulster Hockey Women’s Junior 2 league match.
I had expected to pick up Queen’s first XV in a Premier League clash against Ballymoney but that game was a Covid cancellation; as I found myself at the Dub with an hour and a bit before my next game it would have been rude not to cover this one, and I’m glad I did.
I’d been trying to work, our Number 1 Insta followers, Randalstown into our weekend schedule for a while now as they give us a regular update on their activities on Insta so I’ve added a fair few “player pics” in this one as the opportunities arose.
By the time I made it down, from Dalriada, the game was nearly through the first quarter and Randalstown were leading 0 – 1 thanks to a strike by Lucy Ewart.
