Due to cancellations we only caught one hockey match this weekend with Bob Given catching the first half of the Irish Women Senior Cup tie at the Dub where Queen’s University entertained Pembroke Wanderers in the Quarter Final tie.
I stayed for the 1st half, before covering the Queens Men’s’ AIL rugby match.
Pembroke edged a goalless first quarter but in the second quarter the visitors possession counted and strikes from Sinead Loughran and Izzy Delamere, after 23 and 25 minutes respectively, gave them a deserved 2-0 halftime lead.
In the 2nd half, Pembroke doubled their lead through goals a second goal from Delamere and one from Martha McCready.
A comfortable 4 – 0 victory on the road saw Pembroke into the semi finals . . .
