AIL 2A: Instonians 33 Banbridge 21

I had hoped to catch the 2nd half of Cooke 2 v Ards 2 in the Forster Cup, but the light levels had dropped so much that I retreated to the AIL2A tie between Instonians and Banbridge, under the lights of the main pitch.

Instonians led 26-7 at halftime through tries from Bevan Prinsloo, Glen Faloon, Ruairi O’Farrell and David Whitten. Josh Eagleson added 3 conversions. Banbridge replied with a try by Josh Cromie, converted by Jack Harte.

Banbridge had reduced the deficit after 44 minutes with a try by Robin Sinton, converted by Jack Harte to leave the score 14-26.

Though Instonians were leading it was Banbridge who had all the pressure. Inst only made occasional forays into the Banbridge half, seemingly content to soak up the pressure.
