Senior Cup: Larne Grammar 1 (4) Sullivan Upper 1 (5) AR

I caught up with the Ulster Hockey Schoolgirls Senior Cup match between Larne Grammar and Sullivan Upper on Wednesday afternoon at Lower Cairncastle Road.

The teams had met earlier this season in a 1 – 1 draw in the Stevenson Cup group stages and this game was equally as competitive as they battled out a scoreless first quarter.

Sullivan worked a few more chances in the second quarter and they took the lead mid way through when Ellie Dines converted a penalty corner.

Larne responded just before half time with a penalty corner strike from Taylor Black to take the score to 1 – 1 as the teams changed ends.

Larne looked to enjoy the territorial advantage in the second half as most of the action was down the far end of the pitch from my vantage point.
