AIL1B: Queen’s University 38 Blackrock College 22

On Saturday afternoon Blackrock were the visitors to The Dub to face Queens in an AIL1B league fixture. I took in the 2nd half of this game, with Queens leading 19-15, at the break, with tries from Callum Florence, Zac Solomon and Ryan Street, together with 2 Jack Murphy conversions. Blackrock had replied with tries from Joe Byrne and Barry Galvin and a conversion and penalty goal from Conor O’Shaughnessy.

Blackrock started on the front foot in the 2nd half but couldn’t make their possession and territory tell. Queens broke out in a flowing move involving forwards and backs, before Tom Brigg touched down, on the right.  Murphy’s conversion put Queens 26-15 up, after 56 minutes.
