U14 Stevenson Cup: Banbridge Academy 1 Royal School Armagh 0

I caught up with the Ulster Hockey U14 Stevenson Cup Quarter Final between Banbridge Academy and Royal School Armagh at Havelock Park on Thursday afternoon.

The first quarter was fairly chaotic as both teams abandoned tactics to opt for all out attack which seemed to suit Armagh the best as they pushed forward in numbers. However, Banbridge defence held firm and they went into the second quarter with the game scoreless.

Emma Sloan led the charge for Armagh in the first quarter.

Banbridge began to assert a calmer game in the second quarter and they got their reward towards the end of the half when the talented Mollie Tumilty converted a late penalty corner to give Banbridge a 1 – 0 lead as the teams changed ends.
