Club Friendly: Cooke Veterans 5 Perennials 8

We caught up with the Cooke Veterans and Perennials RFC at Shaws Bridge on Sunday afternoon in a charity match played in memory of Dr Ryan Hamilton who tragically passed away last year. All fund raised on the day will be donated to the Barnardo’s Child Bereavement Service NI.

The match was played over four 15 minute quarters with one point awarded for a try an no conversions.

The Perennials rushed into a 0 – 4 lead in the first quarter with youngster and oldster amongst the scorers.

Marshall finished off a length of the field break at the start of the second quarter before Cooke hit back on the stroke of half time to take the score to 1 – 5.

Cooke scored two at the start of the third quarter but the Perennials hit back with three more, including a Trimble brace, to push the score out to 3 – 8.

The home team finished with a flourish with a couple of tries for a final score of 5 – 8 to the Perennials.
