Championship 3: Civil Service 7 Letterkenny 36

On Saturday afternoon, bottom placed, Civil Service, entertained Letterkenny, lying in 2nd place, at Stormont, in a Championship 3 league fixture.

Letterkenny were in control from kick off, playing high tempo rugby moving the Service defence around. Only some fine scramble defence kept Letterkenny ay bay in the first minutes.

Jack Speer opened the scoring from the base of a scrum

Finally, pressure told. Jack Speer crashed over from a 5m scrum & Calvin Laverty added the points to move Letterkenny 7-0 up after 10 minutes.

Fast recycling caused Service more problems. Speer added his 2nd try & Laverty, the conversion & Letterkenny were 14-0 up in 15 minutes.
