Schools Cup: Larne Grammar 10 Bangor Grammar 24 Group B

I popped over from the Superleague Hockey to cover the Schools Cup Group B rugby match between Larne Grammar and Bangor Grammar at 10:30.

I’d covered the bulk of the Larne side last season when they were in the Medallion competitions. They played an attractive brand of rugby and were unlucky not to pick up some silverware last season so I was keen to see how they they would fare in the senior ranks.

They showed plenty of hard work and endeavour in their game against Bangor but they struggled to cope with the speed and the increased physical aspect of the game at this level. Most have two to three years ahead of them in the senior ranks and if they keep their excellent attitude I’m sure they will do well.
