Junior Cup: Cooke 28 Enniskillen 10 Quarter Final

On a dank, humid, rainy Thursday evening Enniskillen travelled to Belfast to play Cooke in a quarter final tie of the Millar McCall Junior Cup. The rain did not ease up for the entire game, making handling difficult.

Enniskillen settled the quicker & took the lead after 5 minutes through an penalty goal.

Both teams found the conditions challenging but eventually Cooke worked their way upfield and kicked an equalizing penalty goal.

Cooke began to dominate the set pieces and Enniskillen conceded a number of scrum penalties. Following a line out maul Ryan Flavell dived over for a try, converted by Hannah.

Almost immediately Sam Balfour scored for Enniskillen and Keyes conversion left the scored tied at halftime 10 – 10.

Enniskillen battled on in grim conditions

Cooke took the lead 13 – 10 after 44 minutes, when Hannah landed another penalty goal and followed it up with a try by , converted by Hannah on 49 minutes to move the score on to 20 – 10.

A long range Hannah penalty goal consolidated Cooke’s domination and ‘s try as time ran out gave Cooke a 28 – 10 victory and a place in the Junior Cup semi final.
