Ireland U20’s, led by Ulster’s Patrick Jackson, have set up a Grand Slam encounter against England next weekend with this 26 – 0 win against Scotland on Friday night.

, , crossed in a stilted performance from Ireland, Jackson contributed 11 points and they now travel to England for the championship decider.

Buccaneers’ Layden started the scoreboard ticking over with a scorching try down the left, kicking ahead and collecting to score.

Playing on his home turf, Layden was a handful but despite his efforts Ireland were restricted to a Jackson penalty in the rest of the half taking the score to 8 – 0 as the teams changed ends.

Jackson converted two penalties in quick succession at the start of the second half to take Ireland 14-0 clear.

Scotland had their chances but Ireland were able to secure the win when Conan broke off the back of a scrum to send McGrath over and the game was wrapped up in the last ten minutes when Conan powered over of the back of another powerful scrum.

The Irish boys may yet rue not scoring more points in this series as England, despite last nights 12 – 8 loss to France, can still take the championship thanks to their superior points difference.
