Schools Cup: Ballyclare High 17 Friends School 17

Friends School Lisburn travelled to Ballyclare in the fourth round of the Ulster Schools Cup for a hard fought 17 all draw in tough and windy conditions.

Ballyclare started off strong, and early missed penalty from both sides saw no scores in the opening few minutes. Ballyclare had the wind with them in the first half and managed to take the lead with a try by and converted by .

Soon after Friends Lisburn struck back with two quick tries from and , but unfortunately were unable to convert either. Half time saw the score stand at Ballyclare 7 Friends 10.

Early in the second half Friends managed to score another try through McEwen to take a  commanding lead of 7 – 17.

A late push by Ballyclare saw them fight back level up the scores with two late tries by Jackson and .

A last ditch effort to win the game for Friends saw a missed drop goal in the dying minutes of the game.

The teams will meet again on Wednesday 12 February at Friends School. Kick off 11:00.
