Junior Cup: Banbridge Academy 1 (2) Killicomaine Junior High 1 (3)

We caught up with the Junior Cup Quarter Final between Banbridge Academy and Killicomaine Junior High at Havelock Park on Tuesday afternoon.

The first half mostly consisted of Banbridge on the attack with Emma Rankin and Molly Tumilty pulling the strings. Killicomaine seemed happy to defend in numbers and look for a quick break through the centre.

Emma Rankin had a strong game for Banbridge

It was the Junior High’s tactics that paid off after a charge from Hannah Rogers ended with a penalty corner which was converted by Poppy Hannath after taking a wicked deflection. There was no further score and the teams changed ends with Banbridge trailing by a single goal.

Banbridge pulled it back to 1 – 1 at the start of the second half when Olivia McCracken was found in space at the far post to slot in the equaliser.
