Senior 2: Saintfield 4 Owls 0

I made my first trip to Saintfield to cover the Women’s Senior 2 hockey match between Saintfield and Owls in a lunchtime fixture.

Owls made a strong start but despite a few strong runs they were unable to get enough plyers forward when it counted and the home team made the best of their chances to take a 1 – 0 lead in the first quarter when Sancha Harper ghosted in behind the defence to beat the keeper.

Owls started the game well.

Harper added a second in Q2 with a crisp shot from a penalty corner beating the Owls keeper at the near post and the home team took a 2 – 0 lead into the break.
