McCullough Cup Tier 2: Kilkeel High School 0 Methodist College 2 Semi Final

With a Wednesday lunchtime push back Kilkeel High School faced Methodist College in the 2nd McCullough Cup Tier 2 Semi Final at Shaw’s Bridge. It was grey and overcast with threatening rain.

Early exchanges were dominated by nerves, passes were overhit and first touches failed to bring the ball under control. As play settled it was an even scoreless 1st quarter.

Methody had the lion’s share of possession in the 2nd quarter but failed to make this count as chances went abegging in front of goal. Kilkeel threatened on the break testing the Methody keeper. Halftime was reached 0-0.

Kilkeel Keeper, Aaron Rogers, pulled off a series of saves

Methody dominated the 3rd quarter limiting Kilkeel to occasional forays out of their half. Kilkeel keeper Aaron Rogers pulled off save after save to prevent Methody going in front. Despite multiple chances by Methody, the 3rd quarter ended scoreless . . .
