Championship 2: Academy 20 Coleraine 22

We caught up with the Championship 2 clash between Academy and Coleraine at Roughfort on Saturday afternoon.

Coleraine were first to score with Harry Caskey going over in the right hand corner for an unconverted try and a 0 – 5 lead.

Academy worked their way into the game and they picked up a Michael Wilson penalty 25 minutes in to take the score to 3 – 5.

Wilson added a try and conversion six minutes before the end of the first half and a late penalty, again from Wilson, gave Academy a 13 – 5 lead at half time.

Academy went further ahead mid way through the second half with Rory Linden crossing after a couple of breaks down the right and with Wilson converting the score moved out to 20 – 5 in Academy’s favour.

Coleraine hit back 13 minutes later with Caskey crossing for his second try, this one converted by Joel Chambers to pull the score back to 12 – 20.

It became a one score game 10 minutes later with Chambers adding a penalty to take the score to 20 – 15.
