Irish Senior Cup: Banbridge 4 Cookstown 0 Semi Final

Banbridge welcomed Cookstown to Havelock Park on Sunday afternoon for an Irish Hockey Senior Cup Semi Final.

Both teams have only lost one game each in their respective leagues this season but this was always going to be a tough ask for Cookstown against the finely polished Banbridge side.

The Cookstown gave it their all and were competitive throughout the match but Banbridge had just that bit extra as they scored a goal in each quarter to take the game 4 – 0 at fulltime.

Ireland maestro Johnny McKee opened the scoring after 6 minutes with a reverse stick. Cookstown came storming back but the Banbridge defence held firm to leave the score at 1 – 0 as the teams went into the second quarter.
