Irish Junior Cup: Ulster University Elks II 0 Pembroke Wanderers II 4

I caught up with the Elks 2XI and Pembroke Wanderers 2XI in a Hockey Ireland Junior Cup clash at Jordanstown Sports Village on Saturday afternoon.

An experienced Pembroke side looked the business as they took on a young Elks side, missing their talismanic captain Chloe Stewart, at Jordanstown. The visitors quickly took control creating several chances in the first quarter. The Elks defence dug in and they would have been pleased to take the 0 – 0 scoreline into the second quarter.
