Yesterday, with an afternoon push back, Banbridge Academy 3rd XI met Friends School 3rd XI in the Final of the Gibson Shield, at Stormont.
Friends took the game to Banbridge from push back. They closed the Banbridge midfield down, starving their attack of any possession and territory. Banbridge had few forays into the Friends half. Friends created but couldn’t take chances and had the Banbridge defence scrambling to cover. Despite their dominance halftime was reached scoreless.

The 3rd quarter mirrored the 1st half and remained scoreless.
With run ins looming the game was decided in a 2 minute spell, midway through the quarter.
