Women All Ireland: Ulster University Elks 1 Corinthian 1

I caught up with the Women’s All Ireland Hockey League match between Ulster University Elks and Corinthian on Saturday afternoon at Jordanstown Sports Village.

I don’t know if it was the 1pm pass back, the threat of sunshine or saving their energy for a weekend double header, but this was a fairly sedate outing from both teams on Saturday.

Katie McKee had a few runs in the first half.

Normally the Elks are full of biz but apart from a couple of early runs from Katie McKee there wasn’t much to shout about in a scrappy first quarter which ended scoreless.

Unfortunately, things didn’t improve much in the second quarter though the Elks did win a couple of penalty corners but were unable to convert.
