Sevens Rugby: U16 Girls Interprovincial Tournament

I popped down to the IRFU on Saturday on a bit of a busman’s holiday. I was there primarily to watch our two academy players who were turning out for Ulster U16 and U18 sides.

It was a busy day with each province fielding two teams in each age group giving a total of 24 games over the day. However, I only covered the games our players were involved in.

Our U16 representative was Cara McLean who captained Ulster U16 1 in the three matches below.

Match 02: Pool B – ULSTER 22 V MUNSTER 26

Ulster got off to a flying start with tries from Aoibhin Smith (2) , Abi Carson and Amy McConkey. The Munster team came storming back in the second half and edged the game due to their higher conversion rate.

Match 06: Pool B – ULSTER 22 LEINSTER 36
