Friendly: Ireland 5 Scotland 4 AR

Over the weekend Hockey Ireland hosted Scottish Hockey in a pre-Euro, 2 game friendly series at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown. In Saturday’s game the Irish Women won decisively 4-0.

Obviously smarting from the previous day’s loss Scotland took the game to Ireland and caught them cold, taking the lead in 45 seconds, through an Eve Pearson strike.

Ireland settled and created chances but couldn’t get a final touch on the ball. The quarter ended with Scotland leading 1-0.

There followed two quarters, which, though scoreless, did not lack excitement nor chances. Ireland shaded the chances but, as in the 1st quarter, couldn’t get on . . .
