Junior Cup: Cooke 10 Ballyclare 13 (AET) Semi Final

In extremely wet and testing conditions, the two teams renewed their recent rivalry in the Junior Cup Semi Final. Cooke attacked from the start with their forwards driving relentlessly at Ballyclare who, to their credit, stood firm and kept them at bay. Mid way through the half, a bit of indiscipline by the visitors saw No 15, Andrew McMurray put the home team ahead with a successful penalty. There was no further scoring in this half but a lot of Cooke pressure & the odd Ballyclare counter. Halftime was reached with Cooke worth their 3-0 lead.

Cooke were fast out of the blocks in the second half and, early on, increased their lead with No 14, Jack Knox going around the Clare defence to touch down in the corner. The extra two points were ably added by McMurray again . . .
