Schools Cup: Campbell College 17 Royal Belfast Academical Institution 22 Final

It was a grey, gloomy, driech, but mild Friday afternoon, at the Kingspan Stadium for the Schools Cup Final, between city rivals, Campbell College and Royal Belfast Academical Institution.

Jed Dornan, hand on ball, opened the scoring for Campbell

For the first 10 minutes Campbell battered the Inst line. Inst finally lifted the siege and gained possession in the Campbell half. Campbell countered and from a lineout maul, after 20 minutes, Jed Dornan was driven over. Matt Rea added the points for Campbell to lead 7-0.

Five minutes later Inst were on the scoreboard. Jacob Boyd drove over from close range, after a series of forward drives. Campbell led 7-5.

In 1st half injury time Rae converted a penalty goal to put Campbell 10-5 up at halftime . . .
