Women’s Premier: Banbridge 1 Lisnagarvey 2

Banbridge welcomed Lisnagarvey to Havelock Park for a top 4 clash in the Ulster Women’s Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams probed attacked from the start, in varied conditions, with Banbridge’s No 9, Steff Ardis especially dangerous. Both goalkeepers earned their places to keep things level. The game seesawed back and forward for the first two quarters without seeing a breakthrough leaving the score at 0 – 0 at half time.

The third quarter saw the visitors pick up the pace and it was they who opened the scoring when No 17, Vicki Kennedy, picked up a rebound to slot home to take the score to 0 – 1 in Garvey’s favour. Banbridge increased their efforts but to no avail and the quarter finished with the visitors ahead.
