Senior Cup: Banbridge Academy 1 Friends School 0 Quarter Final

On Tuesday afternoon Banbridge hosted, local rivals, Friends School in an Ulster Schoolgirl Senior Cup quarter final tie at Havelock Park.

In the 1st half the majority of play was confined to a congested midfield

Through a scoreless 1st half, neither side could grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Whether it was nerves or the coldness of the day, no team could put together a series of passes to dominate. Consequently, the game was played in a very congested midfield. Banbridge forced two penalty corners and Friends one. Goalkeepers dealt with the few shots on target, as defences reigned supreme.
