On Saturday Lisnagarvey, 2nd, played Banbridge, 1st, in a derby EYHL Men’s league fixture at Comber Road. To the background radio commentary of Ireland thumping France, both teams served up a thriller!

Midfield was hotly contested, before Oliver Kidd opened the scoring for Garvey on 11 minutes. A minute later Louis Rowe equalised for Banbridge.

Peter McKibben’s, No 8, strike gave Garvey the lead

On 14 minutes Peter McKibben’s strike gave Garvey a 2-1, 1st quarter lead.

Oliver Kidd, No 19, was a thorn in Banbridge’s side, scoring twice & earning 2 penalty strokes
