Junior Cup: Banbridge Academy 2 Belfast Royal Academy 1 Semi Final

It’s been a busy week for one of our featured Schools, Banbridge Academy, at the business end of the rugby and hockey competitions. Having covered their Medallion in the Ulster Rugby Trophy Final on Friday I found myself at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club on Friday afternoon where the Banbridge Academy junior girls faced Belfast Royal Academy in a Junior Cup semi final match.

It was an even first half with both sides intent on attack. However, Banbridge looked to be creating more chances as the half progressed and they got their reward when Mollie Tumilty found the net 18 minutes in to give Banbridge a 1 – 0 lead which they took into the break.

BRA pushed hard in the second half and the pressure told when a sliced clearance fell . . .
