Academy welcomed Donaghadee to Roughfort on New Years Eve with the home side hoping to go into the New Year as league leaders.

The first half scoring was dominated by the boots of the two out halfs. Dee’s Mark Cooper opened the scoring with a 6th minute penalty to give the visitors a 0 – 3 lead.

Dee’s Mark Cooper racked up 17 points from his boot i nthe game against Academy.

Academy replied with three penalties from the boot of Michael Wilson to give the home side a 9 – 3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

However, a try from Dee’s Ray Dobson plus a conversion and two penalties from Cooper gave Donaghadee a 9 – 16 lead at half time.
