I caught up with the Students Sport Ireland Division 3 Semi Final between UU Coleraine/Magee against Dundalk IT on Wednesday night at the Jordanstown Sports Campus.

The combined Coleraine and Magee side made their way to the Division 3 semi final by finishing second, on points difference, to a combined QUB and Stranmillis side in Pool A and DKIT finished second in Pool D behind SETU Carlow.

The match kicked off about 20 minutes behind schedule but UUC wasted little time getting on the scoreboard with Stu Patterson knocking over an early penalty for a 3 – 0 lead.

UUC’s Stu Patterson kept the scoreboard ticking over with a penalty and four conversions.

It was a scrappy game in cold conditions but the Ulster . . .
