Schools Friendly: Regent House 12 Banbridge Academy 17

On Saturday morning Banbridge Academy travelled to Newtownards to play Regent House in a Schools Friendly at the Comber Road grounds. At stiff breeze, which would dominate the game blew from the lough and, coupled with rain, made handing difficult.

I arrived at 10.10am for the 10.30am kick off, in Ulster Rugby’s Fixture List, only to find that the game had kicked off at 10.00am.

Regent had taken the lead through a Zeki Kaya try, converted by Zach Campbell. Banbridge replied with an Adam Logan try, giving Regent a 7 – 5 lead.

Both sides put a lot of endeavour into a game dominated by a strong cold crosswind but could make little progress. Finally, a Banbridge attack . . .
