All Ireland League Women: Cooke 0 Old Belvedere 65

I popped along to Shaw’s Bridge, at the end of a long Saturday of sport, to catch the second half of the Women’s AIL match between Cooke and Old Belvedere.

It’s been hard to got into the Women’s AIL this season and despite being only four rounds the competition is already halfway over. This match featured the undefeated league leaders in Old Belvedere against second from bottom Cooke who were still looking for their first win.

Belvo recruited well over the summer and have worked their way to the top of the league. Cooke lost the formidable Beth Cregan over the summer but gained a new coach. They look to be giving youth a chance this season but it’s going to take time.

Brittany Hogan breaks for the line at the start of the second half.
