Kirk Cup: Belfast Harlequins 1 Cookstown 4

On Tuesday evening Cookstown travelled to Deramore Park, to face Belfast Harlequins, under lights, in a Group D Kirk Cup Round Robin game.

From push back, Cookstown took control, shutting Quins out, as they maintained possession and sought openings. Quins had occasional forays into the Cookstown half, but a solid Cookstown defence quickly regained possession.

It was no surprise, when Greg Allen, opened the scoring late in the 1st quarter.

The 2nd quarter was the same fare, though Quins gradually gained more possession and territory. It was still very much against the run of play, when Matthew Gray found himself on a one to one with the keeper and equalised after 25 minutes.
