On Wednesday evening Lisnagarvey played Queens, in a crucial end of season Women’s Ulster Premier League Division A fixture at Comber Road.

Garvey started off brightly, pinning Queens back into their own half and stifling any attempt by Queens to play themselves out. It almost seemed that Garvey had an extra player, such was their ability to intercept passes and shut Queens down. Queens visits to the Garvey half were infrequent and to the Garvey semi-circle, rare.
