On Tuesday Banbridge Academy and Bangor Grammar School met in the final of the Ferris Cup at Havelock Park, Banbridge. As this was at U14 level the game was played over 2 x 25 minute halves.
Banbridge set out to close Bangor down and make them play in their own half. Though Bangor created some chances, in a scoreless 1st half, it was Banbridge who held sway in territory and possession, creating numerous chances but were unable to put any away against a sometimes scrambling Bangor defence.

The 2nd half started the same way, with Bangor’s stubborn defence holding firm. On 38 minutes Bangor won a penalty corner and Josh Donnelly struck a shot into the bottom left . . .
