Championship 1: Ballyclare 20 Instonians 31

Instonians got us away but Ballyclare were the first on the scoreboard with a penalty, after 20 minutes, when Inst’s line were caught offside and Ballyclare’s full back Mark Jackson easily managed the kick.

Five minutes later Inst won their own penalty in-front of the posts but elected to kick to the corner clearly confident they’d come away from this attack with more than three points. From a clean uncontested take in the air Inst got their maul quickly moving towards the try line and Paul Pritchard fell over to touch the ball down and get Inst’s first try. Scrum half Matthew Keane converted and Inst had the lead 7-3 on the twenty seventh minute.

Instonians try scorer Mark Keane takes on all comers in the Ballyclare defence.
