The rain, later sleet, did not ease for this 2^nd Round Schools Cup tie in Newtownards between Regent House School and Carrickfergus Grammar School.

Carrick went into a 1^st minute lead through an Ethan McIlroy penalty goal. Regent replied in the 12th minute with a Jadg McKenna try, converted by Zac Campbell.

In poor conditions, there was no further scoring and Regent lead 7-3 at the break.

Only 2 minutes into the 2^nd half McIlroy was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle and it was uphill for Carrick after this.

R. Copland scored a 45^th minute try, converted by Campbell and when Adam Finlay notched up a try on 68 minutes, again converted by Campbell, it was game over.A Campbell penalty goal at the death completed a comprehensive win for Regent 24-3.
