Schools 2XV Cup: Omagh Academy 17 Belfast Royal Academy 31

On Saturday morning Belfast Royal Academy had the trip to Co Tyrone to play Omagh Academy in the 2nd round of the Schools 2XV Cup.

Academy started of quickly and took the lead after only 3 minutes when Ethan Pavlovic went over far out on the right, for to convert, and take a 7-0 lead.

Omagh failed to secure the kick off and moments later Academy had taken a 14-5 lead through a try and conversion by Norton to give Academy a 14-5 half time lead.

4 minutes into the 2nd half Norton got his 2nd try, which he converted to move Academy out to 21-5.

On 43 minutes Omagh replied with a try, converted by to reduce the deficit to 21-12.

Academy’s pressure told and tries by , on 50 minutes, and on 60 minutes, moved Academy out of reach at 31-12.

Omagh had the final say with a Harvey King try.

With a 31-17 win Academy can look forward to a 3rd round tie.
