We took a dip into the provincial leagues on Saturday with Bob Given covering the Premier Division 1 match between Queen’s 2nd XV and Grosvenor 2nd XV at The Dub.

Playing into a strong wind Queens set about their task with relish. They took the lead in 2 minutes with an unconverted try by and doubled it on 4 minutes when touched down to give Queens a 10-0 lead.

Despite the aid of a very strong wind Grosvenor couldn’t gain a foothold in the Queens half. They finally managed some territory and touched down for an unconverted try to narrow the score to 10 – 5.

Perhaps Queens didn’t use the wind to its full advantage in the 2nd half, but they managed 4 tries. claimed a hat trick and grabbed the fourth. Three were converted by Christie for Queens to win 62 – 5.
