Premiership 1: Banbridge 8 Ballynahinch 43

Ballynahinch recorded their fourth straight bonus point win in the the Ulster Premiership, this one all the sweeter taking place at Rifle Park, home of local rivals Banbridge.

Banbridge got the beat of the early exchanges with youngster finishing off a break to give the home side a 5 – 0 lead.

Hinch replied quickly with collecting a chip from to dot down. Hutley converted to give Hinch a 5 – 7 lead

The home side moved ahead through a penalty at the start of the second quarter to take the score to 8 – 7 but from then on it was all Hinch on the scoreboard, captain crossing before the break and with Hutley converting Hinch took a 8 – 14 lead into the break.

Ballynahinch’s Ronan Patterson picked up two tries in the game against Banbridge

The second half was a bit of a procession as Hinch racked up the tries with , Patterson, and all crossing. Huntley converted three and added a penalty midway through the half to take the score to Banbridge 8 Ballynahinch 43 at the final whistle.

It’s been an impressive start to the season for Ballynahinch who will look forward to the resumption of the AIL next week with some confidence.
