Championship 3: Civil Service 3 Letterkenny 35

With no Premiership matches at the weekend we managed to catch up with games across all three of the Championship leagues.

Letterkenny travelled to Dundonald, to play Civil Service on Saturday afternoon in a Ulster Championship Division 3 League Game.

Much of the 1st half was spent by both teams sounding each other out and resulted in 40 minutes of defense orientated play.

Civil Service took the lead after 7 minutes with a long range penalty by .

Letterkenny responded on 21 minutes when squeezed in in the corner for a try. landed the difficult conversion from the touchline to leave the score 3 – 7.

There was no other scoring giving Letterkenny a 3 – 7 lead at the break.

If the 1st half was a relatively dour affair, then Letterkenny’s 2nd half performance was a revelation. They began to dominate set and loose play and starved Civil Service, who rarely got out of their own half.
