2021-09-11 Ulster University Elks 0 Queen’s University 0 Women Premier

I caught up with Ulster Elks who entertained Queen’s University Ladies on Saturday afternoon at the Jordanstown Sports Centre.

UU Elks looked happy to get back onto the pitch after lockdown. Ulster University Elks and Queen’s University battle out a competitive 0 – 0 draw at the Jordanstown Sports Centre in the Women’s Premier League

In mixed weather conditions the teams battled out a 0 – 0 draw. Over the three quarters that I managed to cover Queen’s appeared to enjoy the bulk of territory and possession though they struggle in the last third.

The Elks appeared happy to soak up the pressure and looked sharper in attack, edging the penalty corners 3 – 2, I believe, while I was watching. However, both sides looked rusty in front of goal.

All in all a enjoyable, high intensity game, for our first official “club match” in hockey.
