2021-07-24 Ireland U19 4 Scotland U19 4 Men Four Nations

On Saturday Ireland U19 played Scotland U19 in the penultimate round of the Men’s Four Nations Series game at a sunny University of Ulster, Jordanstown, Campus. It was a high scoring, scrappy affair, with, at times, both defenses going AWOL.

A tense first half ended with Scotland taking the lead in the last play, latching onto a corner rebound to give Scotland a 0 – 1 lead at the break.

Things certainly livened up in the second half with Ireland’s scoring within a minute of resumption. In an exciting third quarter Scotland went back in front through and expended the lead to 1 – 3 midway through.

Ireland battled back with scores from and to take the score to 3 all and the teams went into the final quarter with everything to play for.

Robb got this second and Scotland’s fourth to put the visitors back in front five minutes into the final period but pulled it back for the game to end in a draw.

Ireland won the resulting stroke competition 4 – 3 to take a bonus point from the game leaving them just ahead of Scotland in the Four Nations Tournaments with the teams going into the final game on Sunday.
